Accessibility statement
Last updated: June 13, 2026
I want this website to be usable by as many people as possible, regardless of technology or ability. I provide this statement voluntarily: as a personal website, dcr.aero is generally not subject to the German Accessibility Reinforcement Act (BFSG) or the BITV. The German version is authoritative.
Conformance status
The website is designed to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. Based on my own review, I consider it substantially conformant with level AA. No formal third-party audit has been carried out.
Measures taken
- semantic HTML with a clear heading structure and landmarks
- full keyboard operability and a clearly visible focus indicator
- a skip link to the main content
- sufficient contrast (text at least 4.5:1; controls and large text at least 3:1) in both light and dark mode
- adequately sized click and tap targets
- labels and guidance on the contact form
- respect for the “reduce motion” system setting
- language markup and meaningful alternative text for images
Known limitations
- The Flightradar24 banner is an embedded third-party image. I have no control over its internal contrast; alternative text is provided. The banner is an interim solution and will be replaced.
- Cloudflare Turnstile (spam protection) is a third-party component; its accessibility is provided by Cloudflare.
- Full level AAA is not claimed throughout. Some AAA criteria are not realistically achievable for a site that includes legal text (for example the reading-level criterion), and some headings meet AA but not the higher AAA contrast.
